In a significant boost to India’s rapidly expanding electric mobility ecosystem, Shri Shirdi Sainath Power Infratech Pvt. Ltd. will establish a modern lithium-ion battery manufacturing plant in the Hathua Industrial Area of Gopalganj. Backed by an investment of approximately ₹87.55 crore, the project represents far more than another industrial investment—it signals Bihar’s ambition to become part of India’s clean-energy manufacturing revolution.

As countries across the world race to secure battery supply chains for electric vehicles and renewable energy storage, this project places Bihar on a map that until recently was dominated by industrial powerhouses.

Why Lithium-Ion Batteries Matter

Every electric vehicle, portable electronic device, solar energy storage system, and modern backup power solution depends on one critical technology—the lithium-ion battery.

According to project details released by BIADA, the plant will manufacture batteries for a wide range of applications, including electric vehicles, solar energy storage systems, power inverters, telecom infrastructure, and industrial equipment. Once fully operational, the facility is expected to produce around 5,000 lithium-ion batteries every day.

The project is expected to become operational by 2027, subject to construction and implementation schedules.
